Rock-a-bye

Josh's dad is making us a baby cradle for the new addition. I have been scoping around trying to find a pattern that I like. Nothing like a handcrafted cradle made by a grandfather that can be passed down through the generations!

Isaac's 9th Birthday!

Isaac is turning 9!!
To celebrate we hosted a pool party at his Nana and Papa's house. As usual it is never a small affair. He invited about 10 little boys and all of our family. I asked if he wanted to invite any girls but he adamantly exclaimed, "NO girls!" We had pizza, ice cream and cake and the kiddos splashed in the pool.

6 week appointment

Friday we went to our first Dr. appointment for the baby. They did bloodwork, vitals, exam, and an ultrasound. We saw his/her heartbeat (109 beats per minute), saw my ovaries and the little 'yoke sack'. The baby is only 5 mm right now! They said everything looks good. Offical due date: March 15, 2010.

Unexpectedly Expecting

Josh and I just found out we are expecting in March! Ahhh.. Definitely unexpected!! But three tests later I am convinced. I had my 5 year plan laid out and another baby was not in next year's plan. I should know by now that things don't always go as planned. God is the Creator and His plans will be. Isaac is excited that he is going to be a big brother.. just a little shocked at first. He already has asked if I should be eating pizza. He is so protective of me, and has a huge heart so I know he will be a wonderful big brother. Josh is ecstatic.. he has been ready he says!

How we found out... I was 4 days late so I decided to take a test "Just to see". I took it and a light 'plus' sign appeared. I screamed across the house "JOSH, COME HERE!" He came running. I said, "What does THIS mean?" Then he preceded to read the instructions. I told him I peed on the middle of it so he said, "Let's do another". We did another one... this time by dipping the stick ... same results. By then it was 11:30 pm. We decided we needed to try a digital test to make sure, so we drove to Forest City to the Super Walmart and made it back home by 12:45 am! Sure enough the next one showed "PREGNANT". Stunned and shocked!

Potter Freak!

I will admit that I LOVE... and let me say again LOVE Harry Potter. I know... I know! Isaac and I love to have Harry Potter marathons and sit and watch the movies. I have been greatly anticipating the release of the movie Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I read half of the book aloud to Isaac and the he read the last half silently.. I told him he couldn't see the movie unless he read the book. He loves books so the task was not difficult for him at all. We loved the movie and thought it a good representation of the book!
